Infections
If your baby has an infection we will help you target treatment to help him bounce back to full health. If recurrent infections are a problem, a multi-disciplinary approach (combining medical and complementary care) may offer excellent treatment and prevention.
We recommend you begin with a visit to your doctor or a paediatrician. Many infections can be accurately diagnosed without the need for any invasive testing. It may be useful to exclude allergies as a cause of your baby's symptoms
Medical treatment is often effective. If your baby is offered antibiotics, we recommend a probiotic to replace your baby's healthy bacteria. Surgery is rarely needed. If this is necessary, you may be reasurred by additional support from our complementary and emotional therapy specialists.
Complementary therapy may be useful alongside medical care, or you may wish to use complementary therapy alone. With recurrent infections such as 'glue ear' homeopathy often brings great results. Acupuncture and osteopathy may also be effective. Many parents find nutritional advice helpful for recurrent infections or allergies.
Emotional support is available for parents from our 'Emo' therapists.
