Counselling & Psychotherapy
Counselling and psychotherapy form the backbone of our ‘Emo’ team and help many people affected by illness, fertility issues, family difficulties or personal problems. We know that how you feel within your body is as important as whether your physical symptoms are relieved, and many people use emotional support to enhance their overall wellbeing and move forward in life with optimism and power.
We work with adults, with couples, children and teenagers, and with families. One of our specialities is supporting bonding between parents and babies.
People often don’t realise the effect of anxiety and tension on their lives and their relationships. You may feel under pressure from many sources. We are proud of helping people to understand their strengths, express themselves clearly, and overcome fear. Therapy is a welcome gift if you feel stuck. Shifting emotional energy may reduce your physical symptoms and is an exciting catalyst for personal growth.
Our counsellor, Ann Herreboudt , plays an enormously important role for couples particularly around pregnancy and when there are difficulties with fertility, breastfeeding, or personal relationships. She has an in-depth understanding of medical procedures and the emotional impact of health issues for women and families. As a psychologist and family therapist, midwife and lactation consultant, and a mother of grown children, Ann is practical as well as sensitive.
Psychotherapy can also provide invaluable support if you are undergoing treatment or if you are facing difficulties in any area of life. It involves exploring personal emotions and the way relationships, particularly from early life, inform your thoughts, feelings and relationships today. Our therapist, Kitty Hagenbach , has a remarkable skill for helping people go 'deep' and experience powerful shifts in a relatively short time. She is as comfortable working with babies as she is supporting women and families through later life transitions such as the menopause.
