Parenting support in north London | Viveka Health Practice NW8 | Viveka

Parenthood

Our reputation for supporting parents from conception onwards has been established over many years. We are here to enhance your physical wellbeing, to offer you guidance when it comes to the practicalities of parenting, and to support you in your partnership and in your relationships with your children.

Encouraging bonding, clear communication and healthy boundaries in relationships is one of the driving principles of Viveka's family approach. Assisting you to be in harmony with one another and with your children (even if you live separately) are key elements of our support. We call this 'staying in relationship' - through the varied aspects of family life, from play to domestic and work duties, and perhaps through illness or other challenges.

Doctors are on hand to provide wellbeing checks and specialist care for each member of your family: a GP for you all; gynaecologists for women; allergists; and fertility experts.

Complementary therapies have much to offer to enhance your strengths and ease difficulties. Parenthood requires numerous aspects of you (carer, playmate, cleaner, financier, taxi driver, conflict resolver, lover ...) and our therapists work on many levels at once. The choice includes osteopathy, acupuncture, homeopathy and nutritional therapy

Emotional support may be invaluable if you feel pressured or confronted by changes (e.g. children going to school, bereavement, becoming a grandmother) or if emotions or relationship issues are having a negative impact. Viveka's 'Emo' team is very sensitive and includes a personal and family therapist, a psychotherapist, a hypnotherapist and a life coach. We have a national reputation for being practical and we believe that small changes can make a surprisingly big impact. We are also skilled at building parents' confidence, and guiding people to review childhood family patterns and to change those that are no longer effective.

Viveka's classes and groups are focused on family matters. The choice ranges from toddler and baby massage groups to talks on nutrition and detox; while Babiesknow and Babiesgrow workshops help parents to understand and change family patterns.

Lifestyle advice may come in handy, especially if you're finding it difficult to create space to enjoy the things you love. Lifestyle measures may include exercise and altering your ‘work-life balance', introducing relaxation, and developing new skills for coping with challenges and having fun; you can get motivation and ideas from our lifestyle therapists if you wish, and you will find all our doctors and complementary specialists very practical.
