Evening Talk for Grandparents & Carers
In response to a request from grandmothers who visit our practice, we set up a two-hour demonstration of basic first aid skills, with experienced First Aid teacher, Ann Herreboudt. this proved such a success, we're going to make a habit of it!
A grandmother’s story:
“My eight year old grandson had been sitting quietly with outside: we were inside having a cup of coffee. Then my grand-daughter screamed. I rushed out and found Zak choking. He couldn’t breathe. I turned him upside down, hitting him hard on the back at the same time. I then applied a dimly remembered procedure called the Heimlich manoeuvre. It was terrifying, with the potential consequences of not being able to get him breathing again going through my mind continuously. Eventually, after what seemed an eternity, a large grape fell to the floor and the panic gave way to tears of relief.”
Ann's specially tailored demonstration will help you learn some skills to deal with common emergency situations. This evening special is designed for grandparents, nannies and other carers.
