Breastfeeding & Newborn Baby Care
This workshop, led by Janet Balaskas, is for expectant parents to attend in the last 3 months of pregnancy. You can come on your own or bring your partner.
It’s easy, with the birth ahead of you, to underestimate the need to prepare for breastfeeding and newborn care; but being prepared can make a huge difference.
This workshop will give you the practical ‘know how’ you need. You will learn about how milk production works, what your baby knows and can show you, how to avoid the most common problems or find solutions to difficulties, and how to combine your instincts with skills you can learn.
Partners who attend discover how a breastfeeding relationship works and how to provide useful support for baby and mum.
Janet will also discuss newborn care and explain the philosophy and benefits of ‘attachment parenting’. The basics of dressing, swaddling, bathing, carrying and sleeping will be covered with partners welcome to participate.
