Lisa Smith
Lisa Smith has been in practice since 2005. She works closely with fertility issues, eating disorders, high stress/anxiety states, weight management, osteoporosis, menopause, and women’s health. Her specific areas of interest are the disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and the endocrine system. Lisa also has a keen interest in the gastrointestinal and immunological health of children.
Role:
Nutritionist, with a special interest in helping families and children eat well.
Qualifications:
Advanced Diploma in Nutritional Theory, a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy and a Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology.
Core belief/passion:
“We are what we eat”, but more importantly for children, “they are and will be what WE feed them”.
I like:
A challenge, the logic and reasoning of young children and running.
I don't like:
Seeing the current health trend of today’s children, along with the sheer volume of poor quality foods and confectionary aimed specifically at them.
I love Viveka because:
There really are not many places that genuinely and successfully manage to integrate the medical and complementary professions together. This results in a phenomenal combined level of expertise and knowledge being readily available.
I also work at:
The Doctor Marilyn Glenville Clinic in Tunbridge Wells.
I lecture on nutrition at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) and at the London Institute of Five Element Acupuncture (LIFEA) and the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM).
