Developmental Massage and Our Baby
A couple contacted me about their son, James, who was 8 months old but not able to lift his head. No diagnosis had been given except developmental delay which was obvious. James parents, Neil and Amanda, were most concerned.
I have met with James twice, and continue to guide Neil and Amanda through developmental massage techniques through my regular skype clinic. Working with parents in this way helps them to stay on track, and means James receives massage at the times right for him, with the love of his parents. Neil and Amanda have been using Developmental Baby Massage techniques with James over a period of 3 months and this is their latest communication to me:
"Dear Peter
Yes 10.00 am Sunday is okay with us.
Today I took James to the physio she was very pleased with him. She thought he had improved lots since last time (6weeks ago)
She said he was reaching for toys more and not keeping his arms so close to his body, and was very pleased with the way he was sitting! He was rolling a ball back to her with one hand when sitting, which she said was very good and he was on track for his age. She said keep practising sitting and encouraging more rolling over onto his tummy.
She was very positive and pleased with him which was great news, and thanks to you!
Many thanks
Neil and Amanda"
An Update:
Dear Peter
Just to let you know that James had a physio appointment today.
She was pleased with his progress, she said he has still got alot of head lag,
but thought he was sitting very well.
Also to be able to reach out for toys and keep his balance was very good.
He was also sat turning the pages of a book. She was most pleased and
said he was doing the things a child of his age would be doing.
She would like to see him rolling from back to front more.
It was all very encouraging, thanks to you.
See you Saturday
Many thanks
Amanda and Neil
