Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy takes place during hypnosis – an altered state of awareness, often a trance. It is a two-way process involving a trained hypnotherapist and the patient and it is important to note that you cannot be made to do anything that you don’t want to do while under hypnosis.

During your hypnotherapy treatment at Viveka a trained practitioner helps you to concentrate inwards on memory, thought, fantasy plans etc. Because you are in a trance-like state it is possible to tap into the deep unconscious resources we all possess, allowing you to make changes. For example, you may be able to tap into and overcome fear, or you may uncover resources to help you make decisions, control responses or relax.

At Viveka, you can choose to integrate hypnotherapy with other treatments. For example, if you are pregnant, you may decide to undergo hypnotherapy to help you through childbirth. This enables you to experience the birth of your baby in an atmosphere of calm and relaxation, without fear and tension that causes pain. Your body’s natural anaesthesia (endorphins) will replace that stress hormones that create pain.

Hypnotherapy can be used to treat a wide range of conditions ranging from stress and anxiety to lack of confidence, phobias and insomnia.
