“The gynaecologist was really supportive. He removed the endometriosis cyst using a technique called laparoscopy, which meant I needed tiny cuts in my abdomen and there are no scars. He also removed other patches of endometriosis. This was probably adding to my pain, including back ache and pain during intercourse. The gynaecologist recommended I have an IUS Mirena coil fitted. I’ve had it in for 12 weeks and I don’t have any pain at all. I’m due to have a follow up scan soon, so I’ll find out about my endometriosis. I have heard that the Mirena usually reduces it.”
