The Viveka story

Viveka is the vision of Dr Yehudi Gordon. In 1996 he inspired a group of doctors, ultrasonographers and complementary therapists to practice together. Until the creation of Viveka, we had been crossing paths in the course of our work while sharing a vision about caring for people.

We renovated and refreshed a 19th century building in St John’s Wood – once a church school and library. The spaces were transformed into intimate treatment rooms and a hall for workshops and meetings.

Viveka is an exciting adventure and the doctors and therapists love working together. Our team is steadily growing to meet the demand for integrated healthcare.

Many research studies rank us highly, but that doesn’t mean we’re complacent. Our enthusiasm and the energy inherent in being ‘Viveka’ – which means truth – inspire us all to continually review our ideas and refine our approach. Our commitment to providing healthcare tailored to every person’s unique needs remains as strong as ever.

Dr Yehudi Gordon is one of britain’s leading obstetric and gynaecology consultants. He is well known as a pioneer of informed choice and integrated healthcare.

Yehudi was one of the first obstetricians in the UK to encourage women to experience ‘active birth’. He also helped introduce waterbirth. In gynaecology Yehudi Gordon has pioneered the use of state of the art medical diagnosis and treatment with the support of complementary therapies.

The integrated healthcare in practice at Viveka is an expression of Yehudi’s unique blend of respect and loving support, skill and open-mindedness. It has now taken on an energy of its own that reflects the personalities and skills of everyone who practices here.
