Viveka’s first aid courses have a special focus on caring for babies and young children and are perfect for parents and carers. Our fully qualified leaders have been teaching for over 15 years. The course runs over two evening sessions, each 2 hours long.

Homeopathy for mother and baby

Find out how homeopathy works and learn how to include it in your first aid kit and make it part of family life. Homeopathy can work effectively and quickly, particularly for babies. You will learn techniques for coping with ailments including fever, cuts and bruises, colic and tummy pain, restless sleep, teething, nappy rash, coughs and colds. As a mum you can use homeopathy for postnatal healing, breast feeding pains and difficulties, low moods and depression, sleep, cravings, fluid retention, infections and much more. You may be using what you learn in this workshop for many years. Led by Felicity Fine.

Toddler support group

2.00 – 3.30 alternate Tuesday
All children between the ages of one and three struggle for independence and this frequently demands great patience and understanding from parents. Your child’s point of view and your point of view are both valid: we’ll take a closer look. What can you learn from your child and how can you best guide and support him or her? We explore communication methods, boundaries, and how to deal with and avoid stressful situations. The practical skills you develop are to help you enjoy this rich transitional stage, keeping your cool and nurturing your child as s/he grows. Led by Ann Herreboudt.

Baby massage

12.15 – 1.15 Wednesday
This is a relaxed and fun workshop where mums and dads learn to use massage for pleasure and relaxation, and to boost their babies’ health. You will practice gentle stroking movements and discover what feels good for you and for your baby. Some techniques can help your baby drop off to sleep, aid her digestion, ease tummy pain, clear a stuffy nose and support development of her muscles, bones and coordination. The most important aspect is bonding and togetherness: this sets the stage for years to come. Led by Karen Taylor.

Yoga

Penny Chaplin’s yoga workshops are flowing and energising. She designs postural sequences that will release tension and strengthen your body, ease every-day aches and pains, and relax your mind. Intimate classes allow penny to give individual attention. Penny runs beginners and advanced classes. Led by Penny Chaplin.
